Book Three -
Ocean Continents - It is about the discovery of the New World (North America, Central America, South America) by the Chinese military.
The book starts off ten years after the failed attempt to invade China by Nipponese general Hideyoshi. The Wanli Emperor decides it was his turn to invade Nippon. He appoints Admiral Kheim to lead the assault. He stations a mighty fleet of 26 warships in the Kuroshio along the southern part of Nippon. Then the winds died and the fleet ended drifting north, pass the northern most island of NIppon, Hokaido. There they are stranded on the great ocean. Kheim decides to split the fleet up and sends the small ships back to China by having the sailors row home. The larger warships must rely on the currents to take them back. Months have passes and they finally encountered land but it wasnt China. It was a new world, some huge island. Admiral Kheim and a group of his men go ashore and they meet a tribe of natives that are very kind, and the Admiral seems to appreciate how close these people are to nature. After Admiral Khiem leaves this tribe he sails further south where they encounter another tribe. This tribe appeared to be somewhat hospitable at first, but it soon became clear that they intended to sacrifice Butterfly and the Admiral. The Admiral and his men get away due to their overwhelming firepower. On the way back to China the Admiral and his fleet encounter a large storm in which several ships are lost, however Kheim and his flagship survive and make their home.
Kheim and everyone from his time eventually die and they all meet in the Bardo. Kheim becomes so enraged at the goddess Kali for nd the other gods that govern the universe because what they are unjust and evil. He then attacks the goddess Kali an cuts off her arms but the arms soon regenerate. Butterfly soon tells him that he is just wasting his time and energy and it has been like this since the beginning. Kheim is then punished for the outburst. He was to be hacked to pieces and be returned to the world as a mule, monkey or an old geezer.
